P3+Uplift is partnering with a Des Moines client to find a Director of Analytics to lead enterprise reporting and drive data-driven decisions across the organization. This senior role will oversee analytics strategy, reporting frameworks, and a team of analysts, empowering business leaders with clear insights and scalable self-service capabilities.
About the role:
- Lead the analytics strategy and translate business needs into actionable reporting solutions.
- Design and deliver high-impact dashboards, scorecards, and executive reports.
- Build and manage a self-service analytics environment for business users.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to guide strategic decisions.
- Mentor and lead a high-performing analytics team.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data integrity, governance, and consistency.
- Work with Data Engineering and Governance teams to maintain accurate, accessible data sources.
- Anticipate future reporting needs based on evolving strategy, regulations, or market trends.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience with analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making in complex organizations.
- Fluency with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik) and working knowledge of databases/SQL.
- Strong communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to lead and mentor a team effectively.
- Comfortable designing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics environments.
- Understanding of data governance, data quality, and reporting standards.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate business needs and identify opportunities.
- Collaborative and able to work across different teams and organizational levels.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Data Science, Economics, or related field.
- Combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
- 8+ years of experience in business reporting, data analysis, analytics engineering, or related field.
- Previous experience in insurance or financial services.
- 5+ years of leadership and team management experience.
- Extensive experience with data modeling for operational and analytical data stores.
